That’s right, one of the most popular streaming services is having a price increase. The new price has already taken affect to new customers as of January 22, 2019, and all existing customers will experience the rise in the next few months. Netflix currently offers 3 plans, previously ranging from $7.99 to $13.99 a month. Those plans will now cost you $8.99 to $15.99 per month. That is an increase of 12-18%! Despite being a small dollar amount, those are some huge margins!

Of course, Netflix isn’t the only streaming option out there and you have a handful to choose from; Hulu, Amazon Prime, Dish Network Sling, DirecTV Now, Sony PlayStation Vue, etc. Will this price hike take a toll on subscribers? Will it stop from gaining new subscribers? I personally don’t think it will have a huge negative impact on business because the dollar amount is so low.

Can you just imagine if Idaho’s housing prices rose 12-18%. That would bump a $250,000 home up to $280,000-$295,000! And what about interest rates? On That same $250,000 house with $50,000 (20%) down on a 30 year conventional loan, that would take interest from $175,500 to $213,500!

Luckily though, the rates are holding steady and the housing prices are only slightly rising and dipping with the market.
